How much is a .si domain worth?
What decides the value of a .si domain name — length, words, hacks and demand — and how to estimate a fair price for one.
Short answer
Most .si domains are worth close to their registration cost, because value comes only when someone else wants the same name. A minority — very short names, common words and clever hacks — can sell for much more. An appraisal gives you a realistic range, not a fixed price.
What makes a .si name worth more
Length: two- and three-letter .si names are scarce and attract collectors.
Word hacks: names where “si” completes a word (for example words ending in “-si” or “-sy” sounds) are memorable and unique to the extension.
Real words in Slovenian, Spanish or Italian, where “si” reads naturally.
Demand: if the same name is registered in .com and many other extensions, more buyers are likely to want it.
What lowers value
Long phrases, hyphens and numbers, spellings people can’t guess after hearing them, and names that infringe trademarks. Trademark-infringing names can be lost in a dispute, so they carry risk rather than value.
Where .si sits compared with .com
.com remains the most liquid extension, so the same word in .si usually trades for a fraction of its .com price. The upside of .si is that good names are still available to register at normal prices.
How to estimate your name
Run the name through a free appraisal, check whether the .com and other extensions are taken, and look at what comparable names are listed for on marketplaces. Asking prices are not sales, so treat them as an upper bound.
