.us domains
The United States country code
.us is the country-code extension of the United States. Unlike most generic extensions, it has a U.S. nexus requirement and does not allow privacy-protected registrant data.
Who can register?
Registrants must be U.S. citizens or residents, U.S. organisations, or foreign entities with a bona fide presence in the United States.
Registry: GoDaddy Registry (under contract with the U.S. government)
Best for
- U.S. businesses and organisations
- Local and civic projects
- Word hacks ending in “-us”
Finding a good .us name
Because .us does not allow WHOIS privacy, your registration details are public; consider that before registering.
